Sikkim – small yet beautiful

Assistance at the airport/station on arrival and proceed for Gangtok. Check in to the Hotel, rest of the day is free for leisure activities. Gangtok is a bewitching hill-station and a cosmopolitan that offers the tourist all possible amenities. Some parts of it are blissfully calm and again some areas abound in activity with plenty of good restaurants, cafes, pubs, etc. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, set out for a full day excursion to Tsomgo Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok and at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains. Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake’s waters and along with this visit Baba Mandir. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, proceed for Lachung, enroute visit villages and waterfalls. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, set out for Yumthang Valley - The valley of flowers. Flora, fauna, rhododendrons and primulas are found in abundance here. Yumthang is the summer grazing grounds of the Yaks. On the way back, visit the sulphur hot Spring, considered to have medicinal properties. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Gangtok. Arrive Gangtok by late evening and rest of the time is for leisure activities. Overnight at hotel

After breakfast, proceed for city tour visiting Rumtek Monastery, Do Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute to Tibetology (closed on Sundays), Cottage Industry (closed on Sundays) and Flower Show complex. In the afternoon drive from Gangtok to Pelling and after arrival, you may just reserve the time for leisure activities. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast proceed for city tour visiting Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins, Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Fall and Rambi Falls. Overnight at hotel

Have breakfast at the hotel and drive to Darjeeling. Overnight at hotel.

Early in the morning, visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchenjunga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. It is truly a majestic sight, visit the Ghoom Monastery which is oldest Monastery in the area and which was built in 1875. Have breakfast at the hotel and proceed for city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest, Zoological Park(closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre(closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock and Happy Valley Tea Estate(from outside). Darjeeling has alluring tea gardens, refreshing climate and above all, a warm hospitality. Come and soak in the heavenly beauty of the nature. Overnight at hotel.

After Breakfast drive to Bagdogra/NJP in time for flight/train to onward destination.
