Munnar, people usually come to either from Thekadday, Madurai or from Cochin.Either way the aim is to reach just before lunch. A friendly check-in is followed by an orientation of the estate and followed by lunch at “The Barn”. You have a choice to keep it simple like a lassi / Juice or sandwich or a more elaborate multi-course Kerala meal. Retire to your cottage or villa, to rest before you join the nature and bird walk organized by the estate. Return to the hotel to choose your tea at the ‘Chai Shop’ and relax, before you climb to the sunset point for the beautiful sunset views. Dinner is a sit-down multicourse affair, served with warmth and grace. Overnight.
Morning is the time for birding or a trek to any one of the hill trails around Windermere. Back to the Estate for a sumptuous breakfast, there is an array of fruits grown locally – fresh juice, passion fruit, wild tomatoes and wild plantains, cereals, regional breakfast dishes like hoppers, idlis or dosas. Top up with aromatic coffee that is grown around the estate. Rest is followed by a relaxing lunch. Early evening visit the tea museum and drive through munnar city, also the TATA project –MECH that provides employment, education and sustenance to people differently abled people from around the hill town. Return to the estate. Dinner and overnight.
If you arise early look at the possibility of taking on another hill to trek to or relax over breakfast before driving to your next destination.
