Tour Your exciting Lapland adventure starts at Rovaniemi Airport, where you are greeted and privately transferred to your comfortable hotel. After an early dinner around dusk, get ready for a guided snowmobile safari into the wild to experience the extraordinary beauty of the northern Lights!* 2 people share 1 sled and takes turns in driving. During a break in the tour, enjoy a hot beverage and light snack around a campfire. Later, you are returned to the hotel. Please note that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. This safari is not operated on Tuesdays and Fridays; if you arrive on either of these days we can re-arrange your itinerary so you can enjoy this activity on another day.
Start the day with a ride to a husky kennel, where you will learn to “mush” and embark on a thrilling dog sled ride! The dogs howl and pull at their harnesses to get moving, and as soon as the anchor is lifted, they take off at full speed through the snowy forests and plains. 2 people share 1 sled and takes turns in driving. Back at the kennel, you have some time to enjoy a hot beverage with the guide before your transfer back to the hotel. The rest of your day is free to enjoy this spectacular destination. Why not do as the locals and relax in the traditional Finnish sauna at your hotel?
Explore Rovaniemi on your own today. If you’re interested in learning more about local history, nature and culture, we suggest a visit to the Arktikum Museum, featuring exhibits about Finnish Lapland and the Arctic region. You can also add more outdoor adventures to your holiday from our selection of day tours, though we do recommend booking these well in advance. In the evening, you are taken to the Arctic Snow Hotel in Lehtojärvi, a magical place with excellent opportunities to view the northern lights (if conditions are right). After a guided tour of this fascinating hotel, enjoy an atmosphere-rich dinner inside a warm Lappish tepee on the premises. Around midnight you are returned to your hotel. The Arktikum Museum is closed on Mondays. Optional upgrade: overnight at the Arctic Snow Hotel or in a Glass Igloo For a truly memorable Lapland experience, spend the night at the Arctic SnowHotel.
